From 2016 to 2019, an event was held annually to highlight the versatility of the local singing and music scene. In these years, the local Song and Music Day was organized at Tangvall, but from 2020 the pandemic and associated restrictions have put an end to performances with large gatherings of people.

– This year is the first time after restrictions have been removed that we are again inviting to the Song and Music Day here at Tangvall, says conductor of the Søgne music corps, Roar Brostrøm to N247.

He adds that later this year a larger anniversary will also be held to mark that Søgne School Corps is 60 years old at the same time as Søgne Music Corps is turning 115.

– The final number here at Tangvall today is a concert in which all three bands participate. Then the Søgne music corps together with the Søgne school corps and the Songdalen school corps will perform Old hunter’s march together, says Brostrøm before the first notes from the band reach the audience in the fine weather at Tangvall on the first Saturday in May.
