The dial tone, Opinions | I took a chance and moved

Bergen is fantastic

– Bergen is a wonderfully nice and inclusive city. I wanted a fresh start, took a chance and moved from Bodø to Bergen five years ago. It turned out well. I found the music workshop in Fana kulturhus, where we made music, jammed and cooked together. A great way to include immigrants. We had fun and I made friends. When I returned to Bodø, I felt that my heart is in Bergen and moved here for the second time. Now I’ll stay here! Bergen is my city!

Volunteers

– I would like to brag about KIL Fond Bergen, which delivers food boxes and also clothes and kitchen items to disadvantaged people. They are loving and inclusive and treat people as equals. A very good environment!

Economy

– Many young adults have low incomes. The youth ticket for Skyss should be valid until you are 26 or 27 years old. It would greatly help the quality of life.

Karaoke

– Bergen should have more karaoke bars. Bergen is such a big city, and many of us like singing and music, so there should be room for that.

This is also dangerous!

– The police are hunting motorists who talk on a hand-held mobile phone while driving. That is very good, because this is the cause of a lot of inattention and many accidents. But something that they should also crack down on is drivers who constantly turn to talk to the passenger next to them. It is entirely possible to keep a conversation going WITHOUT turning around, and thus lose focus where it should be – namely on the road! Safety must come before courtesy. Your social behavior may be the last thing you do!

In addition, both the National Roads Administration and the NAF have warned against the danger modern cars’ “touch screens” represent. The good old physical buttons and switches are much safer to use. You know where the lights and wipers are, etc., and find them even in the dark, without losing your attention on the road. To hit on the screen, you must necessarily see where the symbol is, so you hit. That second could cost you your life. And other people’s lives. Fortunately, some car manufacturers have realized how dangerous the screens are and have reintroduced physical switches. Something to think about when choosing your next car.

It is a strain

– It is unsustainable with all those queuing for an autopsy at Gade. It is a terrible burden for relatives to wait for 11 days, as we had to, and not know the year you can have a funeral. We know they lack people, but then they have to train more. Give them higher wages or wages during education, if that’s what it takes.

A mother

Answer: We fully understand the situation this mother is in. We have tried to advertise the positions in forensic medicine several times without getting any applicants. We are now negotiating with Haukeland University Hospital about them taking over responsibility for forensic medicine. The hospital has several professionals who can help to do this work. We are currently solving the very specific situation with the deceased who is awaiting an autopsy.

Failed austerity policy

– It is both sad and shocking to read that the School of Culture has to cancel its screenings. Even more bad news for children and young people in our city – on the watch of the City Council. If the city council does not immediately step in and put the two million Kulturskulen needs on the table, then this will just be another disgrace on the city council after each long list of petty cuts. Cuts that go beyond children and young people, in favor of cutting the property tax a little bit for the wealthiest in our city.

Rødt works to strengthen the Cultural School, and ensure that even more children and young people in our city can benefit from all the offers that are provided. We had hoped that the discussion going forward could be about strengthening the offer, getting more activities out into the districts (especially Arna!) and reducing the ownership share – not about reducing the damage from the city council’s failed savings policy.
