(Montel) The occupancy rate in Northern Norway (NO4) fell further last week by 2 percentage points to a record low 21.5 per cent, figures from NVE show.

There has thus been no less water in the reservoirs in Northern Norway in the last 20 years, and the median for the week is, by comparison, 37.2 per cent.

In Central Norway, the occupancy rate also fell significantly last week, with a decrease of 2.9 percentage points, to just 14.9 per cent.

The magazine content here is now approaching the record on the downside, which is 13.2 percent for the previous week, and 11.3 for the current week.

The low degree of filling in the two areas can now be seen in the prices, where today’s area prices are 30.12 for NO3 and NO4, which is the highest in the Nordic region.

For comparison, Eastern Norway (NO1) and Southwestern Norway (NO2) have a 24-hour price of 24.61 EUR/MWh on Friday. The filling rate is significantly better in these areas.

NO2 had a fill rate last week of 37.2 per cent, down 2.4 percentage points, to just below the median of 37.7 per cent.

At the start of the week, NO1 had a fill rate of 19 per cent, a decrease of 2 percentage points, which is above the median for the week of 16.2 per cent.

In Western Norway (NO5), on the other hand, there is little water in the reservoirs, with a degree of filling of only 13.8 per cent, after a drop of 2.7 percentage points. The median for the week is 20.3 percent.

Western Norway also has a higher area price than the other two price areas in southern Norway on Friday of 29.18 EUR/MWh.
