The influencer says she is done with Nettavisen after an interview about the “mafia conditions” in Greenland in Oslo.

Influencer Øyunn Krogh takes a hard line against Nettavisen’s journalism.

– And the glass ran over, I’m 100% done with Netteavisen (sic!), writes Krogh on his Instagram profile.

She reacts to Nettavisen’s angle on a video interview with her during the Tise Awards last week with the title: “Øyunn Krogh after horror report: – The best place in Oslo”.

Krogh usually lives in Greenland in Oslo, and was asked the question “– What do you think of the mafia situation in Greenland?».

The background is several cases of shooting incidents and gang clashes in the district recently.

Do you think the media are blackmailers?

Krogh clearly snorts at the question in the video interview, and answers, among other things, that it is the best place in Oslo and that she herself experiences the area as both safe and good.

Krogh believes that Nettavisen’s angle wrongly suggests that she does not recognize that the development in Greenland is “worrying, sad and scary”, and that the growing youth crime is a problem.

– But I am not going to contribute to the media by painting a place like Greenland black, to create more fear than necessary. It will only create even greater differences and even more stigma, writes Krogh.

She also makes a call to Nettavisen:

– Next time, I think Nettavisen can make a case for why we see youth crime growing. Where are we failing these young people and children? How do criminal environments manage to offer children more belonging than Norwegian society?

– Relevant to ask her

Medier24 has submitted the criticism to Nettavisen.

News editor Charlotte Sundberg defended the question and the angle as follows:

– The day we interviewed Øygunn Krogh, the report on violence and threats in Greenland in Oslo was one of the big issues in the news. Krogh has previously spoken warmly about Greenland and it was therefore relevant to ask her about one of the current topics this day, Sundberg tells Medier24.

– The purpose was to elicit more voices that could say something about life in the district in order to nuance the picture that emerged in the report. The video reproduces what she said in the interview. We hope that she will contact us directly if, at a later stage, there is something she believes is wrong in our cases where she is the source.

Sundberg accepts Krogh’s call, but points out that Nettavisen has already done this.

– We have also previously put the spotlight not only on youth crime in Oslo, but also in several other places in the country, with several cases. Among other things, we have shed light on the increase in the number of cases in different age groups and the debate about what should be done. We will continue with this in the future as well, she says.
