Tromsø sets a sunshine record for April.

On Tuesday, Tromsø broke the record for the number of hours of sunshine in April. The previous one was from 2016, with 271.4 hours of sunshine.

– We have to wait a bit for this year’s final figures, as there are still many hours left in the day, write the meteorologists on X, formerly Twitter.

The last day in April is also the hottest day of the year so far in the Arctic city.

For the rest of us, 1 May will be the hottest day of the year so far, the meteorologists warn. The temperature will exceed 20 degrees in southern Norway. The clouds determine how hot it will be.

Further north, gray weather will dominate. But there is not much rainfall expected anywhere in the country, reports the Meteorological Institute on X, formerly Twitter.

With summer temperatures approaching, a full party is being set up on the quay in Oslo, VG could report on Monday.

State meteorologist Ingvild Villa said it’s just a matter of getting nice weather in the next few days – because the temperatures can quickly drop again.
