– It has been a really heavy burden. But being open and honest, and telling if it has been the right thing to do. I put all the cards on the table.

This is what the leader of Fremskrittspartiets Ungdom (FpU) tells VG.

He has been caught twice by the police, for cannabis and cannabis and cocaine. He received a summons for one of the cases, and a sentence of 30 days in prison for the other. He was 17 years old when he received the sentence.

Kept it a secret

Velle tells VG that he has not told anyone in the Frp or FpU about the submission and the sentence until now. He believes it was right that he was convicted.

– On two occasions I came into contact with the police. Both times because I was caught using drugs. Of course, I should never have done that, and I now see it as the biggest mistake I have made in my life, says Velle to VG.

Wants to enter the Storting

Velle has announced that he wants to be elected to the Storting for the FRP. Now party leader Sylvi Listhaug says that she is happy about Velle’s openness.

– There are many who experience a difficult youth and who make stupid choices. Simen tells a strong story. I think it is good that he is open and honest about the problems he has faced. He can be a good role model for other young people in a difficult situation, says Listhaug to VG.
