16 days straight with the world’s best handball players on the screen. It is clear when the match program for the Olympics in Paris is fixed. With the exception of 26 July and 5 August, handball matches are played every single day during the Olympic period.
On July 26, expectant Olympic athletes from 206 nations sail down the Seine during the official opening ceremony, and then it’s battle after battle until the men’s final day on August 11.
The handball girls open the ball with a neighboring duel against Sweden on July 25, while the handball boys face Argentina in their first match two days later. Both teams play their opening matches in Paris, before moving north to Lille for the final on 5 July. The top four teams from each group advance to the quarter-finals.
The handball girls are in a group with Germany, Slovenia, Sweden, Denmark and South Korea, and the handball boys meet Denmark, Hungary, France, Egypt and Argentina in the group stage.
