Economy and business: – The errors and breaks in the fiber cables have now been found and repaired. All systems have been thoroughly tested and we can return to normal operations. We apologize for the consequences these errors have had for those who did not get where they were supposed to tonight, and to everyone else who has been affected by the lack of air traffic in Northern Norway, writes Avinor in an update at 8.30pm on Friday.

A fiber cable break at 3.30pm knocked out air traffic north of Bodø for a period on Friday. At 17.45, air traffic was partially reopened with some restrictions.

Avinor set up a crisis team and put all available resources to work on solving the problems. At the same time, they emphasized that flight safety was never at risk, and that they have other systems that ensured the safe handling of traffic that was already in the air.
