Debate, Advise | Advice: The village animal’s hearth

--

Debate post This is a debate entry, written by an external contributor. The post expresses the writer’s views.

After my post about double tracks from Haug to Seut, I have received an overwhelming amount of positive feedback, at the same time I see that Råde Høyre and Senterparti deliberately come up with incorrect angles and information on the matter.

The ruling FrP’s opinion on the matter is that by voting on, and thus giving a majority to, the banding of area, we have ensured that this area now in all probability paves the way for double tracks from Haug to Seut. This is therefore to be regarded as the first, and most necessary, link in a long political process, and therefore it is also not unreasonable to mark this as a happy thing on our part.

Råde Høyre explains this away and refers to a decision for a zoning plan for the double-track Haug-Seut which is supposed to have been adopted on 21.5.21, which is not true.

It was the municipal sub-plan Intercity from Haug to Seut that was adopted at the time.

When the zoning plan finally comes up for consideration, it will only cover the areas that will actually be used for railway construction, without additional banding of surrounding areas. And that is what we have provided a basis for now.

Answer to Wigardt: The regulatory plan for double tracks to Seut was adopted three years ago

Instead of having a factual and enlightening debate, which I would like to commend the Røde Høyre for attempting in his post, it is a sad affair to read the response from the Røde Senterparti. Instead of discussing the actual issue, they resort to poor demagogic craft in the absence of serious arguments.

Yes, their inveterate attitude that everything should be as it has been – that we should only have one track in Råde – will lead to a serious bottleneck for the high-speed trains and the increased freight and passenger transport that exists in the Norway of the future.

Nevertheless, it is not understandable for me and us in Råde Frp that our fabricated silence is being questioned. Ironically, this comes as a response to one of our many debate posts, where we lift freedom of expression and political decisions out to the people in the public space – where they truly belong, not behind closed meeting doors as others clearly prefer.

Answer to Wigardt: Råde Frp acts confidently like silent Birgitte

Råde Frp expresses itself in the municipal council by voting for or against, and we make it clear when we have objections. We are constantly receiving interviews and cases.

Nevertheless, we have respect for meeting time and do not want to be another nuisance in the municipal council meetings, therefore we speak when it is appropriate. We have no need to make ourselves more important than we are, we are most people.

There are many ways to use freedom of speech in a democracy, and we note that Råde Senterparti does not respect the diversity of expression Råde Frp helps to expel. We are all different and have different ways of expressing political opinions, this is a value of freedom that we in Råde Frp hold dear and which clearly not everyone in Råde municipal council shares.

The contours are clear, and I have pointed this out before too, in Råde you are included if you follow the flock of sheep and owlish if you are able to want to be in opposition to the usual narrative.

Instead of factual debate, lies and caricatures are spewed out. This is the village animal, and I and Råde Frp will stand in opposition to this until the last moment. Is it perhaps not so strange that we have a big bullying problem among young people in Råde? Run (factual) debate!
