The first places on Spotify’s Norwegian top list have all been hijacked by the Oslo group’s new songs, the day after they were released.

After a mysterious message from Undergrunn last weekend came the news: They are launching new music.

On Thursday this week, the group published four new songs. The following day, everyone is at the top of the “Norway top 50” list on Spotify.

The list is an overview of Spotify’s most played songs in Norway.

– Statistics don’t lie. Norway actually loves rap, and this is the proof, writes Undergrunn in an SMS to VG.

At the time of writing, the song “Tenke Sjæl” is at the top.

On Saturday, several hundred fans had turned up in a car park at Tøyen in Oslo to get a taste of the new songs.

Their new single “Norge Elsker Rap” has four songs with the names:

  • “Superhero Steez”
  • “Thinking Soul”
  • “Schnogodidougudugudioubudibow”
  • “Beige”

Undergrunn, which consists of six members in their early 20s, have become very popular in a short time.

Topping the charts before

During the awarding of the Spellemannprisen 2023, they were named Spellemann of the Year.

They were also nominated for song of the year for “Michelin Stjerner”.

The Oslo band has taken Norway by storm with their last two albums, “Undergrunn” and last year’s “Egoland”.

It is not the first time the group has topped the charts.

A year ago, their album “Egoland” went straight to the top of the VG-lista, and held the position for a long time.

The album became the most streamed in Norway throughout 2023 on Spotify.
