The Tom Hagen case has been fully investigated

--

– We can confirm that the recommendation in the Lørenskog case has been sent to the Oslo state prosecutor’s office, says prosecutor Vibeke Schøyen in the East police district to Dagbladet.

Schøyen will not comment further on the case, citing the fact that the case is now with the state attorney.

– Someone out there must know

– For the same reason, we can’t ask for an interview in the case either, she says.

Tom Hagen is charged with the murder of his wife Anne-Elisabeth Hagen. She has been missing since October 31, 2018.

The police’s theory is that the 68-year-old woman was killed in the house, before she was taken away.

Sunday 28 April marks four years since Tom Hagen was arrested at Lørenskog. He denies having killed his wife.

The defense attorney for Tom Hagen, Svein Holden, tells Dagbladet that he does not want to comment on developments in the case.

– I am waiting to make any comment until the state attorney has made his statement, he says.

Holden says to NRK that he expects the charges against Hagen to be dropped.

The neighbours’ theories: – Tipped off the police

– We are satisfied that the police have now sent a recommendation to the state attorney, and we naturally expect the result to be that the case against Hagen is dropped, says Holden to NRK.

– I have not been informed about this in advance, and am only familiar with what the press has received. It is not unusual for parties in the case not to receive information about the police’s recommendation to the state attorney, says Anne-Elisabeth Hagen’s legal aid lawyer, Gard Lier, to Dagbladet.

State Attorney Kari Hangeland Buvik at the Oslo State Attorney’s Office confirms that they have received the submission from the Eastern Police District, but says that they cannot comment on it further.

– The work on the case here will naturally take some time, taking into account that the case has been investigated for a long time and that there is a large amount of material to be reviewed. We cannot therefore say anything concrete about when the case will be forwarded to the Attorney General, she tells Dagbladet.

On Thursday evening, NRK and Nettavisen write that they have learned that the police are determined to drop the case against Tom Hagen.

In addition to Hagen, three other men have been charged in the case. All deny criminal guilt.
