The first pictures of the king back at work were photographed on Thursday, although the king himself has been at work since Monday.

On Thursday, the king will meet a number of new ambassadors for an audience at the Palace – including Argentina’s new ambassador Claudio Alberto Giacomino.

These are the first pictures that have been taken of the king in a work context after he has returned from sick leave.

King Harald (87) had a pacemaker operated on at Rikshospitalet in Oslo after falling ill on holiday in Malaysia in February this year. He was on sick leave until 22 April.

This week, the royal house announced that the king will work less in the future.

– This will mean a permanent reduction in the number and scope of activities the King participates in. Practical arrangements will also be made in the implementation of his official activity, the royal house wrote in an announcement.

On Tuesday, Crown Prince Haakon stated that the king is happy to be back at work.

– The rest of us are so happy that it is possible. Then he must take age and shape into account, the crown prince told NRK.
