It is the second exhibition of the season at the gallery in Guddal.

Ascension Day, the works of the artists Karin Augusta Nogva (graphics and textiles) and Bent Erik Myrvoll (painting) will be exhibited.

During the opening, former NRK journalist Ole Torp will have a conversation with the artists, says a press release from the gallery. The theme is “local forces and inspiration from Japonisme”.

«Karin Augusta Nogva and Bent Erik Myrvoll both have a great passion for the craft, and work with a closeness to themes within nature, biology and the ecosystem. They both have a burning thematic commitment to nature and the value of this in their art.

In recent years, an increased awareness of the local area has become relevant, both in terms of natural resources and natural values. It has inspired the artist duo, who are individually known for being politically active in their art within visual art and performance, to work together. Something with the performative human bird “The Bird Watcher” and Bent Erik with the mobile project “Norsk Art Ambulance», says the invitation.

The artist duo’s exhibition will focus on visual storytelling with crafts and materials. Nogva exhibits textiles and graphics inspired by Japanese art and culture, and Myrvoll will show monumental abstracted paintings where the color is taken from the color resonance found in nature, it says.

The exhibition runs until 9 June.
