On Wednesday, TV 2 and NRK could report that one of the police’s hypotheses is that the incident may have occurred by accident.

– By that we mean that it could not have been intended to shoot the person in question. It is based on information we have in the case, but is only one of many hypotheses we are working on, says police attorney Benedicte Malling to VG.

She says that the case is still being investigated as attempted murder, but if the theory that this was an accident is true, the status will of course change.

– First of all, we want tips, because we know that there was someone present who we have not come into contact with, says Malling.

The shooting took place at a kindergarten in Holmlia, south of Oslo.

No one has been arrested in the case, and the person who was shot is said not to have wanted to give a statement to the police on Tuesday.
