Children are cycled down by eager cyclists. That is why we had to take action.

Currently have Midtun school an action three mornings each week to make cyclists aware that their cycle path is also a school path. The campaign is called “completely super school road”.
We have felt compelled to carry out this campaign because it is still a problem that children (and adults) are run over by keen cyclists on their way to work. It is the cyclists who are responsible for the children not being run over! Unfortunately, I don’t think that all cyclists agree with this…
The children must, of course show common sense and take care, but they are children and do not have the same attention as us adults. Children are soft road users, and in cycle path versus school path, the school path actually trumps.
I am a cyclist myself and ride the same road, and there are many ugly comments and dangerous situations that arise simply because cyclists do not pay attention.
When my daughter and I took part in the campaign on Wednesday morning last week, we even had a comment shouted at us from you, “man on a fast bike”.
Where we stood, with yellow vests and our sign with “show consideration!” You shouted “don’t stand there so I think you’re going to get in the way!”
To you I will say: “Yes, I actually have to!” Because this is about the children being safe! And we can’t predict every move a child in their own world might make on the way to school… They’re children!
Pull yourself together!
Have you experienced road-dangerous cyclists?
