This week saw the quarterly report for the entire Nordnet group, with results to date in 2024. The company’s Norwegian section delivers its second highest result ever.

At the same time, net savings are at a record high, and Nordnet Norge’s total savings capital now stands at SEK 153 billion.

Nordnet Norge reports revenues of SEK 251 million in the first quarter of 2024. This is an increase of 3 percent compared to the first quarter of 2023.

The group reports revenues of SEK 1,263 million and an operating profit of SEK 884 million. The customer base consists of 1.9 million distributed across the Nordic countries, with a savings capital of SEK 904 billion.

It appears from the press release on Tuesday morning.

With this as the backdrop, we brought two quick questions to her who is the boss in this country.

Norway under the microscope

– Why does Nordnet have such good results in Norway, what is the reason for this?

– The main driver is probably the strong growth in our customer base. It has grown by 10 percent in the past year. We also saw in the first quarter a net saving at a level that is as high as for the whole of 2023, says Nordnet Norway country manager Mari Rindal Øyen to FinansWatch.

– Is it possible to say how long this may last in the future?

– I cannot predict the future, unfortunately. But there are a number of trends we are observing. Norwegians have gained an increased interest in saving and investing, and we are obviously happy about that. In addition, there has long been an underlying growth in the market for savings and investment, driven by the general development of society and the individualization of the pension market. Our strategy at Nordnet is to capture market shares in a growing savings market, and we have a strong platform that we know the customers value, says Rindal Øyen.
