The street, which now appears in a completely new look, has been opened to traffic again, together with the Posthuskrysset, and at the same time that they have managed to keep the deadlines that were promised.
– It is not a matter of course in such a large city project, says project manager for Bypakke Ålesund Torbjørn Vatnehol, who gathered workers and involved in an ever so small celebration this morning.
– We are very grateful that this has gone according to plan, and in addition to thanking everyone who works with this every single day, we would also like to thank both road users, the public and businesses in the area who have been very patient and cooperative, he adds.
The ongoing project now continues into Keiser Willhelmsgate, and Vatnehol seems almost surprised at how much positive feedback they get along the way.
– What is nice is that people actually take the trouble to come to us to tell us that they appreciate the work that is done. It means a lot to those involved, all the time we do everything we can to meet deadlines and carry out the plans with minimal consequences, he says.
At the County Council today it was decided to keep the plan with planned price adjustments, a debate which is probably not quite over, but which also does not seem to have consequences for the ongoing work on the public transport hub in the centre.
What we are working on here has been approved and will be completed, so here everything is going as normal. Now we have to finish the last part, he says.
