In February, two men in their 20s were arrested and imprisoned when they got off the Danish boat. It happened after customs officials found large quantities of drugs.

The police have not previously wanted to say anything about the quantity or which drugs are in question. They have said it is the biggest seizure made so far this year.

Police attorney Jørgen Henriksen now tells BT that it is about 46 kilos of hashish, about 20 kilos of amphetamine and just under six kilos of ecstasy.

Waiting for kripos

It is still the largest seizure made in 2024, but the police attorney reserves the right to say that they still have not received the results from an analysis that Kripos will carry out of the drug.

– We are talking about a very significant drug seizure, and the penalty for importing it is high, says Henriksen.

He states that the penalty is imprisonment for up to 15 years.

– But we have not concluded in relation to the two who are in prison, whether they knew what was in the car. It is something we are investigating, says Henriksen.

Looking for more

The police suspect that there are more people involved.

– The reason why two people are in prison is that there is a risk of tampering with evidence. In that lies the fact that we believe there were probably others involved. We are working to find them and secure evidence against them, says Henriksen.

BT has been in contact with defenders Henrik Rynning Sjåmo and Abdelilah Saeme.

Sjåmo states that his client pleads not guilty. Saeme does not wish to comment on the matter.
