TRONDHEIM (Nidaros): Several police patrols moved out on Thursday to a housing estate in Heimdal after a food delivery person warned of a threatening situation.
Operations manager Svein Erik Wagnild in the Trøndelag police district told Nidaros at 5pm on Maundy Thursday.
The food courier was to deliver food to a person in the neighbourhood. When he rang the doorbell, he was met by a man with a firearm, according to the police.
Correction: The police initially stated that the delivery boy was a boy in his teens. Later it turns out that the food delivery man is an adult man, but his underage son was also present.
– No good explanation
– He got scared, pulled back and called the police. We then launched an operation where the patrols were armed, and we quickly gained control of the person in the house, says Wagnild.
The firearm the food delivery boy notified turned out to be an air weapon. According to Wagnild, the food delivery man thought the weapon was a real gun.
The man in his 30s who opened the door is taken into custody. Wagnild does not know what was the background for the threat.
– The man had no good explanation as to why this had happened, says the operations manager.

The food delivery boy and his minor son have been offered follow-up by the crisis team after the incident.
– It must have been a traumatic experience for the victims at the scene. There is no doubt about that, says police lawyer on duty Anne Haave.
At 8pm, she says that the suspect, in his 30s, will not be questioned on Thursday evening.
– An initial interview has been conducted with the arrested man. He will not be questioned tonight, and has been taken over by the healthcare system, she says.
