RELIGION: Tomorrow is Good Friday, and Passion service with Eivind Kråvik in Randaberg church.

On the occasion of tomorrow, Randaberg24 has spoken to Kråvik, about what the day means to him, what the service will be like and what it’s like to think about the sufferings Jesus went through.

The Bible Society writes the following during the day; Good Friday got its name because it is the day when Jesus is tormented and dies on the cross. Therefore the day is long and heavy with sorrow. But it is also a day for hope and joy, as the English name “Good Friday” testifies to. Good Friday texts can be found in Matt 26.30-27.50.

– We live after the resurrection and can see Jesus dead on the cross in the light of the resurrection. On the cross, Jesus triumphs over death, evil and atones for the sins of the world. When Jesus dies, the curtain in the temple is torn in two and the way in to God is opened. Jesus’ death and resurrection is the world’s best message about how God gives us his salvation and love for all people. For me, that is the best message in the world, says Kråvik.

The service tomorrow will be something special;

– Tomorrow we will read the story of Jesus’ suffering as it is written in the Gospel of Mark. The service will be built around the story of Jesus’ suffering.

Kråvik sees new aspects of the Easter message every year, and in that way gets a stronger view of what the message means to us;

– I would like to encourage everyone to participate in the Easter services where this is celebrated and discover for yourself what Jesus went through for us, concludes Kråvik, and at the same time wishes Randaberg24’s readers a happy Easter.
