Have to go out to sprinkle slippery roads tonight: – Now I’m getting bored
From Ringvoll in the south to Båstad in the north, the municipality’s roads, streets and squares must be swept and cleaned before the children’s trains are released on 17 May.
Due to the long winter with extensive littering, there will also be an extra lot of litter to be swept up this year.
– Last season we used 5,000 tonnes of loose sand, now at least 6,600 tonnes have to be swept up. I haven’t received the latest figures for March yet, so it could be a little more, says Filtvedt, who explains that it is not the case that the same sand is reused next winter.
– It cannot be reused because of too much soil, leaves and stones that have been mixed in over the winter. That’s why it’s going to landfill, he explains.
