At 10pm on Saturday evening, a witness reported to the police about what is supposed to be an abduction of a man at Bjørkelangen in Romerike.

The police rushed to the scene and arrested three people – two of them over 18 years old and a 15-year-old boy.

All three have been charged with serious deprivation of liberty, Laila Hegard, on-call lawyer in the East police district, told Dagbladet.

– It is grave and disturbing, she says when asked what she thinks about the fact that the one accused is only 15 years old.

Potentially more victims

The man who is said to have been abducted is unharmed and is being looked after by the police, Hegard further informs.

At the same time, the police are working to identify several victims, who are said to have been subjected to violence and threats.

– There are more witnesses and potentially more victims, but this is something the police are working on, says Hegard.

The accused are known to the police from previous cases, but Hegard will not comment on whether they are linked to a specific environment.

– What we can say is that these are people we have some familiarity with from the past, she says.

Two of the accused will be produced for remand on Monday. The 15-year-old will be released due to his young age.

Must have used a gun

For the time being, the police are reluctant to comment on what they believe to have been the background to the abduction.

– We mean to have control over relevant persons. Beyond that, the investigation is in an initial phase, and we cannot currently say anything more about the course of events or motive, says Hegard.

Several objects are said to have been used in connection with the abduction, including a gun, she says.
