Just three days after Miss USA 2023, Noelia Voigt, announced her retirement, Miss Teen USA is doing the same, writes People Magazine.

17-year-old Uma Sofia Srivastava claims she took time to make the decision to drop out:

– After months of considering this decision, I have decided to withdraw from the title of Miss Teen USA 2023, writes Srivastava on his Instagram profile.

Srivastava is the author of the children’s book “The White Jaguar” and claims that her personal values are “no longer in line with the direction the organization is moving”.

She does not elaborate on this beyond pointing out that she will continue to work for multilingual children and that the book project is what is closest to her heart.

The seventeen-year-old was the first Miss Mexican-Indian-born teenager to win the beauty pageant.

– This evening is the best of my life because I was crowned together with people who love and support me through everything, she wrote on Instagram after the victory.

Now the girl from the state of New Jersey is choosing to retire.

The news comes in the wake of Noelia Voigt (24) withdrawing from Miss USA due to her mental health.

– You should never compromise on physical and mental health. Health is our wealth, Voigt wrote on Instagram.

The 24-year-old is the first Venezuelan-American woman to win Miss USA. She was Miss USA for just over eight months before giving up the crown.

Voigt ended up among the top 20 out of a total of 84 contestants during Miss Universe in November last year.

– I realize that this can come as a big shock to many, she wrote further.

The Miss USA organization has expressed its understanding of the decision. They are now in the process of finding someone to take over the role.

Miss Teen USA also now receives support from the organization:

– Uma Sofia, we wish you all the best. Thank you for your service as Miss Teen USA, writes the organization.

– We respect and support Uma Sofia’s decision to resign from her duties. The health of our title holders is the first priority, they write further.

– We are now looking at the possibilities of finding a successor and will soon announce the crowning of the new Miss Teen USA.
