It is Bergens Tidende that writes this.

– I worked for eleven months straight, went straight from the Viaplay series “Maskineriet” to “Krigsseileren”. I love my job, but it was too much, Joner tells the newspaper.

– Call it what you want – going on a rampage, being burnt out. I had to find a way out of it, he says.

In front of Bergens Tidende, he now declares himself healthy enough to go on a film set again, thanks in large part to his new “therapist” – the 50-kilogram bullmastiff Walken, named after his favorite actor Christopher Walken.

– It was almost like having a baby again, a young roommate. He has gotten me out, given me structure, we have met others in the dog community. It has been pure therapy, says Kristoffer Joner to the newspaper.

“Krigsseileren” is directed by Gunnar Vikene and is about the fate of a Norwegian war sailor during and after the Second World War. The main role is played by Kristoffer Joner. Ine Marie Wilmann and Pål Sverre Hagen have other key roles.

The film was well received by Norwegian reviewers, and became Norway’s candidate for the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film ahead of the 95th Academy Awards, but did not make it.

In 2023, a TV version of the film was made for the streaming service Netflix. Last year, the film won four awards under the Amanda Prize, while Gullruten has a total of 11 nominations.
