Kate Beckinsale – Hits back at the rumours:

Actress Kate Beckinsale made a comeback on the red carpet in New York on Thursday. She has been as if evaporated from the public since she shared photos from a mysterious hospitalization in March.

The Instagram post received a lot of attention, as she did not share why she was hospitalized or when the photos were taken.

– What the hell are you doing at the hospital, Kate? Wishing you peace and good health, wrote one of her followers at the time, according to Se og Hør.

The post was later deleted.

Now the 50-year-old is again getting a lot of attention in social media. This time, however, it is unwanted on Beckinsale’s part.

– I hate talking about this, because I don’t want to add anything to the debate. But I do it, because all kinds of vicious bullying takes its toll over time, writes the actor in a candid Instagram post on Sunday.

Beckinsale refers to the speculation about whether she has had plastic surgery, and whether that was the reason for the hospital stay.

In the post, she opens up about the fact that she has been repeatedly accused of voluntarily going under the knife in recent decades. She shares two videos that were taken 20 years apart, where it is clear that she has been through changes.

– Every time I post something (…), I am accused of having plastic surgery, botox or fillers, and of being obsessed with looking younger. It is tiring, and an incredibly evil way to bully a person, she writes.

The actress says she often sees comments like “oh my god, you’re unrecognizable”, “plastic” and “you don’t look like yourself anymore”. According to her, it is usually women who leave the comments, and that it happens “constantly”.

– It is clear that I have grown older, everyone ages. I am not worried about aging, since I found my father dead when I was five years old.

Beckinsale uses the two videos to show how her appearance has changed over time, and how that happened.

She says, among other things, that in her younger days she lived in Great Britain, which is said to have made her skin paler. The 50-year-old also adds that she had a fuller face and plucked her eyebrows more in her 20s, and that she also had a completely different make-up routine than today.

During Thursday’s King’s Trust gala, the 50-year-old reveals to People that she “has had a tough year”.

– Both because my parents have been in bad shape, and my cat. It’s been a bunch of stuff, Beckinsale admits.

Rushed to hospital

It was at the latest in January that the actress had to rush from the Golden Globe awards to the hospital, when one of her family members was admitted.

However, she does not believe that she is alone in having had a difficult year.
