Subject editor Danby Choi (30) has been a much talked about man this spring through his participation in “The Game” on TV 2. After playing a tactical game almost from start to finish, Choi disappeared from the program about a week and a half ago – much to the shock of most of the remaining players.
– Thought I was a celebrity
To Dagbladet, the TV profile explains that life has changed completely after the program started rolling on Norwegian TV screens.
– I thought I was a celebrity before I took part in “The Game”, me. But I soon found out that it was entirely possible to become more famous than I already was, says the 30-year-old with a smile.
– Extremely pissed off
The growing attention has not only been fun.
– Sometimes it’s uncomfortable, especially at the gym. Then it’s nice just to be one of the crowd. It would be nice to be able to walk in peace sometimes.
He continues:
– It’s not so much fun when people take sneaky pictures when I’m training weights. Ha ha, I hope not too many people catch how much I bench press on camera.
Calls for more TV offers
Fortunately, there is also a positive side to celebrity status.
– As an editor in Subjekt, it is my job to be part of the public, and to get my opinions out there. Now that I’m so famous, the press is more interested in what I say.
Danby Choi, who was part of the upper floor in “The Game” before he was sent home, reveals that he has received several TV offers in the wake of his reality debut.
– Yes, I have received a lot of requests. But I find it difficult to say yes to concepts know what is. I didn’t know what the “game” was about, and it tempted me to say yes. I’m a critic, so when I review a show I only see the negatives. If I had seen the game in advance, I don’t know if I would have joined it, Choi, who does not want to reveal which TV offers are in question, tells Dagbladet.
