In just under a week, a new winner of the Eurovision Song Contest will be announced.
At the starting line in Malmö, Gåte is representing Norway, while it is the Norwegian star twins Marcus and Martinus Gunnarsen (22) who will fight for “sweet brother”.
Eurovision Song Contest: A folk party?
It was in March that the twins took a superior victory in the Swedish Melodifestivalen final. The victory made headlines throughout the Nordics, as it has never happened before that two Norwegians will represent Sweden.
However, it wasn’t just the historic victory that people were talking about the following day.
Because at the after-party, Martinus was pictured together with the Swedish artist Klara Hammarström (24). Aftonbladet referred to it as a “hot flirtation” on the dance floor.
According to Expressen, Martinus and the 24-year-old seemed to enjoy each other’s company. Avisa also wrote that the two hugged, laughed and danced several times during the evening.
When Dagbladet met the twins, shortly before leaving Malmö, the undersigned naturally had to ask about the incident.
Answers after “Het flirting”
Hammarström’s name makes Marcus laugh as he looks at his brother.
– It haunts me, giggles Martinus before he continues:
– I was actually a little scared. That was my first feeling. I thought: “Now people think I’m with her”, since these are the first pictures of me with a girl “flirting”. So it’s typical that this sort of thing happens right after we’ve won, because then the focus is on us the most.
Furthermore, Martinus can say that his friends were quick on the ball after the pictures were published, and that he had to explain himself to them.
– I had to tell everyone that there was nothing, which was difficult since the pictures look the way they do. You’re at a party, dancing and talking to people.
– There is also loud music, so you have to go closer to hear what is being said and then it can look like they are kissing each other on the cheek, the brother shoots in from the side.
The brothers are nevertheless clear that they think it is a bit funny that there is so much interest in their love life.
– But of course, things can turn up that are not true at all. Which can be a bit dangerous. As for example with Klara, what has been written is not true at all. But it’s a bit of fun that they try so hard to get a headline, grins Martinus in conclusion.
Victory party interrupted
Marcus and Martinus are directly qualified for the grand final on 11 May, as they represent the host nation Sweden. They have been given the honor of opening the entire show with “Unforgettable”.
