For many, the “Harry Potter” films, as well as the book series, have been a large part of childhood, and several dedicated fans have a tradition of watching the films every year around Christmas time.
Last year it was also announced that the successful films would get their own series, to the great excitement of the fans.
The “Harry Potter” stars we have lost
There is still one person who has apparently shelved the films, namely Miriam Margolyes (82), known as Professor Sprout from the film series.
Recently, she made several headlines with her controversial statements about the films’ adult fans.
– I worry about the “Harry Potter” fans because they should be done with it by now. It was 25 years ago and it’s made for children, she told the website 1News in New Zealand, as reported by the New York Post.
– People say they are going to have a “Harry Potter” themed wedding, and then I think: “Oh, how will your first night of fun be?” I can’t even think about it, she says further in the interview.
This did not go down well with co-actor Jessie Cave (36), who now goes hard against her former colleague, during the Dream It Con event on Saturday. Cave played Hogwarts student Lavender Brown in the well-known films.
– It is so sad that it happened. You know what she’s like, she’s just a little silly. I don’t think she meant it that way. I hope so, she says and adds:
– I really don’t like that she said that..
Cave was seen in several of the “Harry Potter” films, but was most prominent in “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince”. In the film, Cave’s character had a short-lived romance with Ron Weasley, played by Rupert Grint (35). Margolyes played their eccentric herbology professor.
