Exactly two years ago, you could see Lise Sakariassen (30) and her boyfriend Lars Jørgensen (29) giving everything in the battle to win their own cabin in the TV 2 series “Sommerhytta”.
– I panicked a bit
However, the dream did not come true for the couple, but the former says that participation has opened several doors.
Lars and Lise have enough to get their hands on at the moment.
– We are doing very well, and we are happy with where we are now. Things are a little different and a lot has happened in the last year, she says when Dagbladet hits the thread this week.
A few months ago, they took over their new apartment – a renovation project in the capital.
– We have started to renovate, but wanted to settle in a bit, so we have only just started now.
– Made us dare
According to Lise, it is fine to live in the apartment while they upgrade it, and the couple comes from a 39 square meter apartment.
– If we lock ourselves in one room, it’s roughly the same size, she says with a laugh.
– Can become sharp in tone
There are many fine qualities in the couple’s home that they want to take care of even if they renovate. The apartment is from the beginning of the 20th century, so they do the renovation carefully and take their time.
– We will take a little at a time, but right now we are working on the living room. We hope the floors, walls and all the electrical will be ready by 17 May, because by then we have invited more people to our homes, she says, and does not hide that it is a daunting goal, but that they have done it because they then get a deadline looming.
– It was “Sommerhytta” that actually made us dare to buy a renovation object – it gave us security. We couldn’t do much until we were there, so to feel confident that you can make it happen is a good feeling. There’s a lot we can’t do, but we learn and ask people for help, she explains.
Boyfriend time
– Do you get some time to be just lovers in all the renovations, then?
– We have to make time for that. Maybe that’s why the renovation is going a little slowly then, because we make too much time to be lovers. We don’t have a bad time, she replies.
– Not used as an excuse
She also believes that it is the key to things going well between them, that they do not stress about finishing, but rather set aside some time for pleasant things.
– It’s not that every time you have time off you have to clean up, but that you can take time to do other things too.
– What is the biggest challenge for you?
– That it takes time. It takes a little longer than at “Sommerhytta”. We have to be patient and accept that it takes the time it takes. I feel perhaps a little bit that people expect us to finish quickly because it went so quickly at “Sommerhytta” and have the same expectations. But it doesn’t go as fast.
Student
Today, Lise studies interior architecture and furniture design at the University of the Arts. She believes that course of study would not have happened if it were not for the participation in the TV 2 programme.
“Summer cottage” demolished
– It’s great fun and I think “Sommerhytta” planted a seed in me. I think this is really fun and it’s nice to study in adulthood with more profit and an overview. And then maybe you now know a little more what you’re going for…
She hopes that she can help others with the renovation process and create a home.
– I want to make people dare to go a little out of their comfort zone and make different choices than they would otherwise make, but with which they will be satisfied. I think that’s fun.
