– Good light is an important part of Opel’s identity, and with Intelli-Lux Pixel HD over 50,000 individual LED elements provide class-leading light, perfect for a dark Norwegian winter, says Opel in a press release.

– The new Grandland is a milestone for Opel. It is designed and developed in Rüsselsheim, and built in Eisenach. It will take its place in the important C-SUV segment, and together with the new Astra Electric and the upcoming B-SUV Frontera will complete Opel’s electric model range in Norway, says brand manager for Opel at Bertel O. Steen, Reidar Holtedahl .

Up to 700 kilometer range

The STLA Medium platform provides space for a battery pack of as much as 98 kWt, which gives the new Opel Grandland a potential range of up to 700 kilometers.

To combine comfort and sportiness, the Grandland is equipped with shock absorbers that have frequency selective damping (FSD). Depending on the situation, road conditions and driving style, this allows you to combine comfort on uneven surfaces, with stability when braking, through bends and at high speeds such as on the Autobahn. In addition, the new Opel Grandland is of course equipped with the latest in driver support systems.

Bigger and smarter

The new STLA Medium platform, which eventually forms the basis for a number of new models from the Stellantis family, has given the designers the opportunity to design a completely new and larger Grandland compared to its predecessor.

With dimensions of 465 x 191 x 166 centimeters, it is 17.3 centimeters longer, 1.9 centimeters higher and 6.4 centimeters wider than its predecessor. Inside, both driver and passengers can benefit from the fact that Grandland has grown significantly.

The interior design follows a horizontal theme, with lines extending across the instrument panel and into the vents located in the doors. According to the manufacturer, this helps to create a feeling of width and spaciousness, while the more driver-oriented 16-inch central screen and the tall center console give a sporty feeling.

Driver adapted

Opel continues to adapt the information necessary for the driver at all times. The driver gets all the necessary information through a combination of a driver display and a new head-up display.

She or he can also, manually or automatically, activate Pure mode. This reduces the content of the driver display, head-up display and main screen, which ensures even less distraction when driving at night, or in the rain. As always, frequently used settings such as climate control can also be operated intuitively via physical buttons.

In addition to extendable thigh support, Opel’s well-known AGR seats also have adjustable side support, as well as heating, ventilation and massage for the driver. In the back seat, passengers can benefit from 20 millimeters more legroom.

Family friendly

The new Opel Grandland focuses on interior space. One of the new innovations is the Pixel Box. With an illuminated and transparent glass, the wireless smartphone charger is positioned so that devices can be charged while stored safely.

In total, the new Grandland offers over 35 liters of storage space in the interior – from the Pixel Box and the phone pockets on the front seat backs, to the large storage space under the center console which also houses a 12V outlet.

The wheelbase of a whopping 278.4 centimeters, and a steep angle on the tailgate, provides plenty of space for both passengers and luggage. The rear seats can be folded down 40:20:40 with a total load capacity of 1,641 litres.

The new Opel Grandland is expected in Norway towards the end of the year.
