Republican George Santos (35) was expelled from Congress by a wide majority on 1 December after it emerged, among other things, that he had used election campaign funds for private purposes and sent false reports to the Federal Election Commission.

The former congressman from New York is also charged with corruption on 23 charges for, among other things, defrauding election campaign donors, using the donations for personal use and credit card fraud, writes the New York Post.

It has previously emerged that Santos is active on the website Cameo, where you can pay for video greetings and content from famous faces.

At Cameo, Santos has, among other things, offered to give “pep talks”, birthday greetings, a greeting on Mother’s Day, or give advice and tips.

– Pull me out of the closet

Now, however, it appears that Santos is using new strategies to attract customers. In a new video published by Cameo on Instagram, the former congressman has dressed up as his “drag character”, Kitara Ravache.

Drag is a performance or art form where women and men dress up as the opposite sex.

In the video, Santos poses in a wig, lipstick, feather boa and false eyelashes.

– It’s the favourite, Kitara. After 18 years in the closet, George Santos pulled me out again – anyway, I’ve heard you’re a bunch of little freaks and love to dance the night away. But you know what? You have to turn it up, make it more daring, make it more fun, says Santos, or Kitara, if you will.

Revealed

Previously, Santos stubbornly denied that he had ever performed in drag.

– The latest obsession from the media, which claims that I am a drag queen or “act” as a drag queen, is categorically untrue. The media continues to make outrageous claims about my life as I work to deliver results. I will not be distracted or intimidated by this, Santos said at the time.

Through the election campaign and his time in Congress, Santos gained a reputation as a serial liar.

Santos has previously claimed that he is a first-generation American born in New York, according to the BBC.

Santos said that his grandparents “fled Jewish persecution in Ukraine, settled in Belgium and again fled persecution during World War II.”

He further claimed that he was well educated and that he had previously worked as an “experienced Wall Street financier and investor”.

He has also said that he owned several properties and that his mother had died in the attack on the World Trade Center.

However, it later emerged that there is no evidence that his grandparents fled from anti-Semitism in Europe or that he himself is Jewish, writes the New York Times. He has also admitted that he has never graduated from a university.

It is true, however, that his mother is dead, but she died in 2016.

If a personal video greeting from Santos should tempt you, you will have to shell out the tidy sum of NOK 2,735.
