On Friday, the United States announced expanded sanctions against violent Israeli settlers and organizations that support them, as did the European Union.

Foreign Minister Antony Blinken stated at the same time that the US is now also considering introducing sanctions against several units in the Israeli army that are accused of violating human rights.

And today the US accuses five Israeli IDF units of gross human rights violations.

Four of the five units are said to have sorted out the situation, while Israel has sent additional information about the fifth military unit, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ spokesperson Vedant Patel, according to NTB.

One device in particular

According to US legislation, the five entities cannot benefit from the US military aid to Israel, which Congress recently decided to expand by a further NOK 187 billion as a result of the war in Gaza.

None of the incidents referred to have taken place in the Gaza Strip, according to US authorities.

According to the American news agency AP, it is one unit in particular, the Netzah Yehuda battalion that previously operated in the West Bank, which is in the spotlight, NTB reports.
