It is the state-run Russian news agency Tass that reports that Belarus claims it has been subjected to a drone attack.

NATO country Lithuania denies that they have attacked anyone.

– The Lithuanian army does not have and does not carry out any hostile action against any other states, says a spokesperson for the Lithuanian army according to Reuters.

The statement from the Lithuanian army was issued because they saw a need to react to the news reports that Belarus was the victim of a drone strike from Lithuania.

Lukashenko: The opposition would ask for NATO help

Ria, another state-run Russian news agency, quoted Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko as saying that the opposition in Belarus planned to seize a district in western Belarus. He claims they would ask Nato forces to come to their aid.

Lukashenko has ruled Belarus with a heavy hand since 1994 and is one of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s closest allies. Russian forces stationed in Belarus crossed the border into Ukraine at the beginning of the war, but Belarusian forces are said not to have taken part.

Russia has also deployed short-range tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus, which Lukashenko has said will act as a deterrent to neighboring and NATO member Poland.
