This is according to The Inner Circle, the group that looks after Phil and his husband Phillys. It is not known what gender the little ones are, nor what they will be called. However, they are reported to be in good shape.
– We are happy. I’ve been talking to Phil via my cane, which allows me to speak marmot language, and Phil couldn’t have been happier to have started a family, says Thomas Dunkel, the tuxedo-clad president of the group.

The annual Groundhog Day ceremony deep in the mountains of Pennsylvania ended this year with a disappointing message: There will be no early spring this year either. According to American tradition, groundhogs predict the weather for the near future on this day, and the most famous of these animals is Punxsutawney Phil, from the small village deep in the mountains northeast of Pittsburgh.
If the marmot emerges from its den and does not see its own shadow, spring will come early. If the weather is clear, however, winter continues for another six weeks. This year, as in both 2021 and 2022, the sun shone. Every year, the ceremony attracts thousands of tourists.
The ceremony is known from the 1993 comedy “A new day looms”, where Bill Murray plays a cynical TV meteorologist who has to cover the event and relive the same day many times in a row.
