On Sunday evening, the police will release the names of the two girls who were found lifeless in Spydeberg at the request of relatives.

It was twin sisters Mina Alexandra and Mille Andrea Hjalmarsen (16) from Indre Østfold who died. The police stated this in a press release on Sunday evening.

A third girl in her teens was present at the address, and was taken to hospital for treatment after consuming narcotic drugs.

The police have charged a man in his 20s with negligent homicide. Another person was arrested on Sunday, suspected of having sold drugs to the girls.

Correction: The dead girls had measures through child protection

Changes charge

In the same press release, the police state that the charge against the man in his 20s has been changed to negligent homicide.

They emphasize that this is a preliminary charge, as it is still early in the investigation.

The incident took place at the accused’s residence, but there should not have been a previous relationship between the sisters and the accused.

The man in his 20s, who is charged with leaving the victims in a helpless state, pleads not guilty. His defender Knut Ditlev-Simonsen confirmed this to NRK earlier on Sunday.

– We will be available

Had measures through child protection

The girls who were found dead had measures taken by child protection.

This is confirmed by regional director of Bufetat in the Eastern region, Ingrid Pelin Berg, to Dagbladet.

– They had measures through child protection, but they had not taken over care of them, she says.

Holds an open house

Indre Østfold health center for young people, located at the town hall in Askim, will be open for young people who need to talk to someone tonight.

Deputy mayor of Indre Østfold municipality, Katrine Hestø Hansen, told Dagbladet’s reporter on the spot.

– We are opening the health center tonight because we feel that there is a lot of unrest among our young people. If someone needs to talk to someone, they can come here, says Hestø Hansen.

The deputy mayor states that the youth teams will also be present at all the secondary schools and upper secondary schools in the municipality tomorrow.

– You wake up to the news that two young girls have gone missing during the night, and it shakes a local community. This is a terribly sad case, and we must be available to anyone who needs to talk to someone, says Hestø Hansen.

She says that the municipality will take care of those left behind, as well as relatives in the future.

– We have a psychosocial crisis team and other health services that have been linked to the relatives since this morning. Now we will also be able to see the need, depending on how many people come to the town hall tonight, and adapt accordingly.
