Atle Antonsen has been reported for racism, after an incident that took place in a night club in Oslo a few weeks ago.

The comedian has now been reported for hate speech by the Norwegian author and social debater Sumaya Jirde Ali.

– We can confirm that the Oslo police district has received a report in connection with an incident in Oslo on 23.10.22. The police cannot confirm who has been reported. The victim in the case has given a statement and the case has been coded as hate speech and reckless behaviour, writes police attorney Marianne Aune in an SMS to Dagbladet.

Dagbladet has also seen confirmation that the relationship has been reported.

– The police have questioned suspects in the case and witnesses who were present at the incident. In addition to this, we do not wish to go into specific investigative steps at this time. The case has been fully investigated and is pending assessment by the prosecution, Aune writes further.

Ali is aware that Dagbladet is reporting on the incident. She also confirms that she has been questioned by the police.

Dagbladet has been in contact with Antonsen, who does not wish to comment on the matter beyond the following:

– This is a sad and unpleasant case, but since there is a police report, it would be inappropriate for me to comment on this right now. Hoping for understanding for that, writes Antonsen in an SMS to Dagbladet.

Dagbladet has been in contact with the general manager of the nightclub where the incident is said to have taken place. He confirms that there was an argument, but states that he does not know what was said.
