It was on Sunday afternoon that the police were notified of the traffic accident on national highway 13 at Sandvinvatnet, just south of Vasstun near Odda.

Two male drivers in their 40s and a female passenger in their 30s were involved in the accident.

All three were first sent to hospital in Odda.

To Haukeland

– The man who was critically injured was sent on to Haukeland on Sunday. He is no longer life-threateningly injured, says police officer Aase.

– Do you know anything about the extent of the damage to the other two?

– They were admitted to hospital in Odda last I heard, but are not said to be seriously injured.

In the opposite lane

– Do you know how the accident happened?

– One car has crossed into the opposite lane. The driver has been charged and has had his driving license confiscated. This is not the driver who was seriously injured, says Aase.

The police officer says that the police have a clear picture of the sequence of events, but that everyone involved and all witnesses have not been questioned.

– We don’t know why one car crossed into the other lane, says Aase.

The man, who was described as critically injured, was in the car with the woman. According to the police, the two are not natives of Vestland.

The driver whose license was confiscated lives in the Bergen area.
