It is 1 May today, which is marked all over the country. In Oslo, LO leader Peggy Hessen gives the keynote speech at Youngstorget at 11.45. The train starts at 12.45.

Støre in Østfold on 1 May

Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre (Ap) is today making the trip to Torsnes in Fredrikstad, Sarpsborg and Moss. The Prime Minister will deliver the keynote address in Folkets Hus in Torsnes.

Handala sails from Oslo heading for Gaza

The boat Handala from the organization Ship to Gaza is sailing today from Oslo towards Gaza, “in order to break the blockade contrary to international law – and as a protest against the ongoing genocide to which the Palestinians are subjected”, as the organization writes. Before the boat sails, there will be concerts with, among others, the rap group Gatas Parlament.

20 years since the last EU enlargement

It is today 20 years since the EU gained ten new members: Cyprus, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, the Czech Republic and Hungary.

3rd round in the NM in men’s football

The Champions League in men’s football

Borussia Dortmund (Germany), with Norwegian Julian Ryerson in the squad, meets Paris Saint-Germain (France) in the first of their two matches in the semi-finals of the Champions League. The next match is in Paris, so that the teams each have their own match at home. In the second semi-final, which was played on Tuesday, Bayern Munich (Germany) and Real Madrid (Spain) played 2–2.
