The former American president is involved in a number of feuds in the American legal system.

These days he is sitting on the dock in the so-called hush money case. In addition, he has four other cases that may also reach the court premises. To defend himself, Trump has an armada of lawyers and other legal supporters. These must have paid.

In March, he spent 4.6 million dollars (around NOK 50 million) on legal costs. Now there is only 6.8 million dollars – or 75 million kroner – left in the coffers he has used to pay his lawyers, Bloomberg writes, and refers to documents delivered to the US Election Commission.

This is what you should know about “alternative” investments

Trump has spent NOK 681 million on legal costs since January 2023, it appears.

The news agency writes that Trump’s so-called PAC, called Save America, is the organization through which the lawyer’s money goes.

Must fill up

After Trump was indicted in the case of kickbacks to an American porn star, the Trump campaign used the opportunity to raise funds. In the following days, it brought in 15.4 million dollars, writes Bloomberg.

After he was prosecuted in the so-called document case, 6.6 million dollars was collected. He also collected 7.1 million after he was arrested and charged related to the 2020 election.

With 6.8 million dollars left for legal expenses, there is a need to raise more money, writes Bloomberg, who mentions more funds from donors as an option for the ex-president.

Biden has more money

As things stand now, incumbent President Joe Biden has more money to campaign for a Donald Trump. According to the Financial Times, Biden has received 413 million dollars, against Trump’s 326 million dollars.

The Biden campaign has $188 million in cash, while Trump has $122 million.

In the opinion polls, there is almost a dead race between the two candidates.
