Police responded to a residential address following a report of an incident on Tuesday evening. The police initially referred to the incident as serious violence.

On Wednesday morning, Swedish media reports that two people have been arrested and suspected of murdering two children.

– They are family members, a woman and a man, says Per Falhström of the Stockholm police, according to Expressen.

The children were found lifeless on the spot, writes the newspaper.

Aftonbladet writes that the attackers are a man in his 30s and a woman in her 40s.

One of the arrested was also injured. Expressen writes that this must be the man.

There must have been a large police presence – including crime scene technicians – at the address since Tuesday evening.

Aftonbladet learns that the ambulance personnel who rushed to the scene have been taken out of service as a result of the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Expressen has spoken to a woman in the neighborhood who describes the incident as “horrific”.

– It’s horrible that something like this happens where you live. There cruel, incredibly cruel, says the woman to the newspaper.
