A woman has been sent to hospital after a car drives off the road and into a stream. The condition of the woman is categorized as serious.

– It appears serious. One person must be unconscious in the vehicle, operations manager Øystein Eikedalen told VG when the police received the report just after 6.30pm.
The message was that a car with two people had driven off the road and ended up in a stream.
In an updated message on X, the police write that there is extensive material damage. A woman appears seriously injured, and is taken to Skien hospital.
The police initially wrote that another woman was slightly injured and is being treated by health personnel at the scene. In an updated message at 18.31, the police write that it was a man, and not a woman.
The accident happened on Europaveien, south of Brevik. The road is closed as a result of the accident.
The Swedish Road Administration’s accident team is on its way to the scene.
