Both Norwegian and SAS flights had to turn around after a bomb threat – NRK Rogaland – Local news, TV and radio

--

– We were met by police dogs and blue lights when we got off the plane.

That’s what Sarah Hesteness tells us from the waiting hall at Kastrup. According to the plan, she should have been at home in Stavanger long ago. But she and her roommate were on the SAS plane which had to turn back after a bomb threat today.

– The message was that we did not have clearance to land in Stavanger, and we had to turn around.

According to her, everyone was calm, even when the passengers had to get up because the seats had to be checked while the plane was still in the air.

– When we landed at Kastrup, we were allowed to get off the plane and take our jackets with us, but our hand luggage had to be left behind.

To Danish TV 2, deputy police inspector Simon Hansen of the Copenhagen police says that the SAS plane was escorted by two F16 planes.

Two planes had to turn around

A Norwegian flight also had to turn around and fly back to Copenhagen.

– We can confirm that it concerned a flight from Copenhagen to Stavanger Airport. The plane has now landed safely at Copenhagen Airport, says Norwegian press officer Silje Glorvigen to NRK.

Stavanger Aftenblad mentioned the case first.

A passenger on the SAS flight tells NRK that they received little information about what happened.

– We were told 15 minutes before we were due to land that the plane was not authorized to land. That was the only message we got.

The passenger says that they were evacuated onto the runway.

– We had to leave all our luggage on the plane. It will probably need to be searched. There was quite a bit of information.

Evacuated at Kastrup

Norwegian police have been informed that an SAS plane was over Norwegian airspace when it turned.

– I have been told that a plane has turned around after a bomb threat, and it is the Danish police who are handling the matter, says operations manager Dag Steinkopf in the Sør-West police district to NRK.

Dansk TV 2 writes that a Norwegian plane that was going to Stavanger Airport is being evacuated at Kastrup.

Danish police sign https://twitter.com/KobenhavnPoliti/status/1770885548774744421 that they consider it so that there is no need to examine additional aircraft. Deputy police inspector Simen Hansen tells Danish TV 2 that the investigation of the two planes may take some time.

– We examine the planes thoroughly, he says.

New flight

The plane took off from Kastrup in Copenhagen at 17:25 and was scheduled to land at Stavanger Airport at 18:40.

SAS says they will take care of the travelers who will be put on a new flight.

– We’ve got a new flight tomorrow, says Sarah on the phone from the waiting hall at Kastrup.

On https://twitter.com/CPHAirports/status/1770872022769226171 Copenhagen Airport writes that they are cooperating with the relevant authorities who are currently working on their work in connection with the incidents.

A plane that had recently taken off from Stavanger Airport had to turn around because the smell of smoke had been detected.

The police have finished on the scene and no signs of fire or smoke have been found in the plane. This was unrelated to the two flights that had to return to Copenhagen.
