According to the documents, the cars in question are part of a number of internal test cars which were not supposed to be sold, but which, due to an error, have been sold to consumers.

The first recall concerns six cars from the Passat Variant, Passat Sedan and Polo model series, which were produced between 29 March 2016 and 7 August 2017.

The second recall also affects six cars, but this time the VW Golf, Golf Sportsvan, Golf Variant and Phaeton models, with production dates between 29 April 2014 and 25 July 2016.

The cases are reminiscent of the events from 2018 and 2020, when for some reason Volkswagen had sold up to 8,700 cars worldwide which at the time did not meet the current legal requirements for driving on public roads. Some of these cars later turned out to be pre-series and research cars.

It can be very risky to drive around in these cars, as there can be problems both with the quality, but also with the cars’ safety systems, which do not necessarily work as planned.

If the consumer is in doubt about the origin of his Volkswagen, he should contact an official VW dealer or branded workshop.

Since the cars are nowhere to be found in Volkswagen’s system, they cannot with good reason know which countries the cars are located in.
