Møre and Romsdal county council states this on its website.

The students are not allowed to take a new exam, but are given a dispensation with their own code on the diploma, they say.

The written exam was supposed to start on Monday at 9am, but several students experienced that they could not log in to the Directorate of Education’s website.

When this problem was solved, the county council had a problem with access to the internet for the schools in the county.

– This resulted in a complete standstill for the students, who were given neither the assignment, attachments nor access to aids, writes the county council.

The Directorate of Education and the State Administrator therefore believed that it was not justifiable to carry out the examination.

– This is catastrophic, says the principal at Ålesund upper secondary school, Ole Reinlund, about the exam having to be cancelled.

Viken County Municipality has also sent the Directorate of Education a request to cancel the exam, writes VG.

– We can confirm that Viken County Council has asked the Directorate of Education to assess whether the exam should be cancelled, writes press officer in Viken County Council, Pål Vikesland to the newspaper.
