9 June 19:00 Norwegian time it’s time for Microsoft’s big Xbox event” Xbox Games Showcase Followed by [REDACTED].” Microsoft reports that “a beloved brand” is getting extra attention after the first Xbox Showcase – it is supposed to be about a new Call of Duty game, which we have previously written will probably be launched in October.
Microsoft will also showcase Gears 6, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, Avowed and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. In addition, the Starfield DLC Shattered Space, which will be free, will be launched in September.
Gears 5 is five years old
Everyone expects and hopes that Xbox will get a saving AAA angel during the year, and more and more are pointing to an announcement in June. Earlier this month, we reported a case from The Verge: “Gears of War 6 to be announced in June. That’s what The Verge journalist Tom Warren claims. According to the Microsoft journalist, the game will be shown on Sunday 9 June at an Xbox Showcase. The game series has always been important, both in the single-player and multiplayer parts, but also a third thing: the graphics. Gears 5 is a very performance efficient game and it currently (September 2019) had great graphics.”
Now McIntyre has more or less confirmed that the game will be shown in June on his X profile. We expect that this is blessed by Microsoft, but it is a bit strange. If nothing else, it creates interest ahead of the Xbox event in just under two months. Now the only question is whether the game is so finished that they have time for a launch during the autumn/winter. We hope so. Maybe Gears 6 will be launched at the same time as the “new” Xbox Series X console?
