Elisabeth Terland in Brighton could be the player of the year in the English Super League in football

Striker Elisabeth Terland has delivered a brilliant season for Brighton in English football and is now fighting to be the player of the year in the Super League.

The Norwegian 22-year-old has scored 13 goals and one assist for the club team this season. That places her in second place on the top scorer list in the league. Only Manchester City’s Khadija Shaw (21 goals) has scored more.

This year’s season is Terland’s second in Brighton since the transfer from Brann in 2022. Last season she finished with seven goals.

In total, she has a total of 23 goals in all competitions for Brighton, which is a club record. Aileen Whelan had the previous record of 19 goals.

Brighton have had a terribly difficult season. The club is currently in 11th and second lowest place in the table. Only Reading have taken fewer points. That makes Terland’s goal tally extra impressive.

Earlier this week she was named the best player of the season in Brighton.

In the battle for the player of the year award, Terland is nominated together with the Chelsea duo Niamh Charles and Lauren James, as well as Manchester City’s Shaw and Khiara Keating, Tottenham player Grace Clinton, Arsenal player Lotte Wubben-Moy and Leicester’s Jutta Rantala.
