08.15: Juventus stopper Gleison Bremer has been linked to United through the Italian media, and now Samuel Luckhurst also writes in the Manchester Evening News that the centre-back is on United’s radar ahead of the summer transfer window.

08.10: United will consider making a move for the Atletico Madrid full-back Reinildo, but could face competition from Aston Villa for the signature. Not quite as credible The Sun claims. The 30-year-old should be available for around £8m this summer.

8.40pm: Graham Potter has declined to become Ajax’s next manager, writes David Ornstein for The Athletic on Thursday evening.

The Briton has been without a job since he was fired at Chelsea in April 2023. The Dutch big club, however, after several rounds of negotiations, has decided that Ajax will not be his next step as it does not feel right.

Potter has also been a name that has been frequently mentioned in connection with United and INEOS should they decide to part ways with Erik ten Hag. Perhaps this could be a sign that Potter will wait for a United opportunity to open up?

Graham Potter has refused to become Ajax manager. Perhaps the Brit is trying to wait out an opportunity to become United boss?

19.35: United hope they have gained a head start on other competitors in the hunt for Fulham’s Tosin Adarabioyo. The Manchester Evening News writes that the appointment of Jason Wilcox allows Adarabioyo to see United in a more positive light. Wilcox worked with the Fulham stopper during his time at Manchester City and the 24-year-old’s contract expires at the end of the season.

2:30 p.m.: United have been interested in the Benfica starlet João Neves for a long time, now the Manchester Evening News reports that United have recently increased their interest in the 19-year-old. Liverpool and Chelsea are also closely monitoring the situation.

United are said to have been scouting Neves for several months and are eyeing the youngster as a potential replacement for Casemiro.

13.10: As many United supporters painfully remember, delivered Michael Olise a brilliant game against the Red Devils on Monday night. Both before and after that match, the Frenchman has been frequently linked to United and other top clubs. Now, on the other hand, Aston Villa is entering the battle for the dribbling midfielder.

Footballtransfers writes that the 22-year-old is targeting Champions League games next season. It is something the Birmingham team can boast of, by all accounts. The same website also writes that if United do not qualify for games on the continent, the likelihood that we will see Olise in red will decrease drastically.

08.20: The Telegraph writes that two Premier League clubs are said to be interested in securing him Mason Greenwood next season. The newspaper does not mention any specific clubs, but writes that the Englishman will most likely end up outside England’s borders.

Atletico Madrid are mentioned as a possible stop for the man who has delivered 10 goals in 31 games on loan for Getafe.

18.55: United are interested in signing Tosin Adarabioyo this summer, writes Rob Dawson in ESPN. The centre-back’s contract with Fulham expires at the end of the season, and is said to have also attracted interest from Tottenham, Newcastle and Chelsea.

Dawson also points out that there will probably be changes at the stopper position this summer:

  • Raphael Varane is expected to leave the club when the contract now expires.
  • The club will wait to make a decision around this Jonny Evans until after the season. The 36-year-old’s contract also expires this summer.
  • The club is open to listening to bids Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelöfalthough at least one of them will probably stay.

17.35: Marca claim that Real Sociedad’s last chance Alex Remiro is on United’s radar for possible signings this summer. However, with a €70 million buyout clause and the funds available in the summer window being quite limited, we have little faith that United will shell out for a new goalkeeper, despite André Onana’s occasional problems this season.

15.34: United are expected to make a bid for North Carolina Courage midfielder Denise O’Sullivan, writes Kathryn Batte in the Daily Mail. Read more in your own case here.

13.15: Not very United-related, but we’ll include it anyway: Former United player Juan Mata may be headed to the MLS. This is reported by the radio station RTPA, which is based in the region where Mata grew up.

The rumors have been reproduced here by Storavisen AS.

Mata, who has just turned 36, has been without a club since leaving Japan’s Vissel Kobe in February, but according to reports in Spain, he will move to MLS next year when the 2025 season starts. Mata will then reportedly become part of San Diego FC, which will debut in MLS next season.

Juan Mata’s next stop could be in the United States.
Manchester United

12.40: Much is said and written about Manchester United’s current – and potentially next – coach, and one man who is mentioned frequently is Thomas Tuchelwho has been touted as a realistic Erik ten Hag replacement if the underdog loses his job at United.

Tuchel currently manages Bayern Munich and will play on Wednesday night for a place in the Champions League final. At the press conference before the match, however, he was asked if he would like to return to England and the Premier League. Then he came up with an answer that is unlikely to stop all the rumours.

– I’d rather not answer, but it’s no secret that I loved it at Chelsea, I loved it in England and I loved it in the Premier League. It was a very, very special time and I remember it very well.

11.20: Manchester United journalist James Ducker writes in an article for The Telegraph on Wednesday that two Premier League clubs have inquired about Mason Greenwood. Furthermore, Ducker writes that it is most likely that he will go to a club outside England if there is a Greenwood sale.

It is not disclosed which clubs should have inquired.

Ducker also writes about concrete interest from a number of foreign clubs. Atlético Madrid will follow Greenwood closely and the same applies to Barcelona. For the Catalans, however, the economy is a challenge. There is also interest in Italy, including from Juventus and Lazio. Ducker also writes that there is interest in Greenwood in Germany as well, but no specific clubs are mentioned here either.

Ducker also emphasizes that United would prefer to sell Greenwood, but if a satisfactory offer does not appear, it may be appropriate to send Greenwood out on loan, then with a mandatory purchase as part of the agreement.

09.50: The Bologna striker Joshua Zirkzee should be on Manchester United’s radar this summer. This is written by Corriere dello Sport, reproduced by the Manchester Evening News.

The Italian newspaper claims that Zirkzee, who has impressed for Bologna this season, is on the block not only for United, but also clubs such as Juventus and AC Milan. Arsenal have also been mentioned. The 22-year-old from the Netherlands has twelve goals and seven assists this season, and has played for Bologna since 2022, when he left Bayern Munich in favor of Italian football and Serie A.

08.04: Benfica always make at least one big sale in the summer, and Portuguese Record (here reproduced by Sport Witness) writes that they have decided to sell the very exciting centre-back António Silva in the upcoming transfer window.

United are mentioned as a potential destination, while clubs such as Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and PSG are also said to be interested. United will be present at almost every single Benfica match.

The 20-year-old has a buy-out clause of €100m (£86m at current exchange rates) – a sum Benfica will of course not get, but the plan should in any case be a significant sale.

19.03: More Mason Greenwood: The Daily Mail writes that staff at the club were recently informed that selling Greenwood is the club’s first priority.

18.21: Getafe president Ángel Torres has spoken about Mason Greenwood in an interview with Radio Marca:

– If it was up to the boy, his parents and the club [Getafe]then I think he would have stayed another year, Torres is quoted as saying.

He followed up by saying that the Getafe sporting director was recently in England, and that the message from United was that United would like to sell if there is a good offer. According to Torres, a return to Manchester should not be an option.

– We have to wait until the end of June. The family and the player are very comfortable and happy here, claims Torres.

08.40: Michael Olise played big for Crystal Palace in Monday’s match, the Frenchman who will be high on Manchester United’s wish list this summer.

However, the 22-year-old right-winger is on the block of several Premier League clubs, and the Daily Mail writes that Newcastle have renewed their interest in the player who will have a buyout clause of between 50 and 60 million pounds this summer. In addition, both Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal will value him highly.

If you wonder why United are looking at Olise, you can go in depth here. The rumor continues below.

Here is a big reason why Olise is linked to United

08.10: It’s been a while since he’s been linked with Manchester United, but we’ll include it anyway: the Stuttgart striker Serhou Guirassy, who was frequently linked with United last season, remains a sought-after man. Now Borussia Dortmund will be the favorites to sign the forward. This is written by Sky Sports in Germany.

The 28-year-old has had a brilliant season in the Bundesliga and has 25 goals in 26 league games. It is not only United who have been linked to Guirassy in the past, so have Newcastle, Arsenal and Bayern Munich. Now, however, Guirassy is said to be ready to move on, and according to reports open to going to Dortmund. Guirassy should have a buyout clause of around 20 million euros.

Monday 6 May

2 p.m.: The Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport claims Denzel Dumfries is keen on a transfer to Manchester United this summer. The newspaper writes that the Dutch defender, who became league champion with Inter this season, has been in contract negotiations with the Milan club, but so far the parties have not agreed.

Gazzetta claims several Premier League clubs have Dumfries’ name on the block for the summer, but that the 28-year-old is not interested in going to a mid-table club and that he would rather go to Manchester United. Dumfries has played 34 games this season and contributed three goals and six assists.

08.20: The Italian journalist https://twitter.com/RudyGaletti/status/1786688861612994659 has claimed earlier this spring that Manchester United is allegedly trying to sell Antony for an “acceptable” sum this summer. Now he writes that there have still been no concrete offers from other clubs, although United are still waiting for interest to appear.

Like other media, he also says that Michael Olise is high on the wish list of right wingers who can come in this summer.
