Combined, Elverum | Two river rummages selected for the national team: – Great potential

--

A total of ten athletes were selected for the recruit and junior national team in combined.

This is revealed in a press release on Thursday.

– This is a squad with great potential both for the coming season and not least in the championship a little further on, says sporting director Ivar Stuan.

On a daily basis, the recruit and junior national team will train together with the Elite B athletes in their regional teams.

The local performers are:

  • Ingrid Låte (Strandbygda IL)
  • Jørgen Berget Storsveen (Elverum jump)
  • Even Leinan Lund (Tolga IL)

The trio did a solid junior WC in Planica this winter, where Storsveen went home with two medals.

One medal was bronze in the team sprint, and the other was bronze in the mixed relay, together with Leinan Lund and Låte.

Others are growing well in the combined ranks behind Jarl Magnus Riiber and Gyda Westvold Hansen, and now they get the opportunity to continue to prove themselves to the national team management.

– This year’s recruit and junior national team consists of a good mix of seniors (4) and juniors (6). All the juniors who have been selected took part in the Junior WC in Planica last winter. They show potential that they can develop in the long term to become our next top runners. On the women’s side, we have selected three runners who have all tested themselves at the highest level against World Cup opposition, says Stuan.
