– I’m not going to answer that!
LeBron James let out a small grin after being asked if this might have been his last season for the Lakers.
His 30 points did not last against the Denver Nuggets, who won 108–106 on Tuesday night Norwegian time and thus advanced to the NBA playoffs.
Now speculation is swirling about what happens to one of the biggest basketball stars of all time.
The Athletic cites sources that James is now expected to play at least one more season in the NBA. The 39-year-old has an option for one more year in his contract, worth $51.4 million according to the website.
Not only that: the Lakers should be willing to give the basketball giant a three-year contract extension worth 164 million dollars, around 1.8 billion Norwegian kroner. James will be 42 when that contract expires.
The website Sportico recently published the list of the richest sports stars in history (sums adjusted for inflation):
Sources tell The Athletic that the Lakers want to help LeBron James fulfill his dream of playing with his son Bronny. The 19-year-old said earlier this spring that he is applying for next season’s NBA draft.
