Russian Maria Timofeeva is left with a very bad experience after participating in the Madrid Open this week.
She already went out in the 2nd round, but it is what has happened outside the tennis court that has been the most dramatic for Timofeeva.
During her stay in Madrid, someone has used her bank card and spent considerable sums.

According to herself, she has been drained of 10,000 euros. This corresponds to NOK 118,000. She has no idea how someone managed to use her card.
– I’m freaking out because I don’t know how it could happen, because physically my card was with me most of the time, apart from an episode when I left my room while the room was being cleaned by the cleaning staff of the hotel I’m staying in, she says in a video she posted on social media.
Timofeeva further says that the money has been used in the area near where she lived. At the same time, she asks for advice from her Instagram followers.
– The circumstances are crazy and I don’t know how it can happen. So please share something with me, she says.
The 20-year-old also says that it is not the first time she has had money stolen while she has been in Spain.
– Pay attention to people in Spain and these situations, because it happens every damn time I come here and it gets out of control. So yes, thanks I guess, she says sourly at last.

After posting the video on Instagram, the Russian has followed up with new details in a “story”. There she tries to clarify several things, before she also reveals that she intends to report the incident to the police.

Timofeeva is ranked number 99 in the WTA rankings. The Russian won her first title on the WTA tour in Budapest last year.
